There are many local restaurants and markets. Particular names and addresses are catalogued in the “House Guide”. There are two 3 star restaurants locally.

The neighbouring village of Lurs is famous for its olive oil, Forcalquier for its aromatic aperitifs and Banon for its goats cheese either fresh or wrapped in chestnut leaves. Forcalquier is a 10 minute drive away and has an open-air market on a Monday. Forty-five minutes away is the market town of Apt which stands astride the old Roman road. On Saturday it is alive with crowds. The market provides fruit, vegetables, flowers, garlic and herb stands, meat and cheeses wagons, vendors of baskets, fabrics, toys, hardware and sweets.

On Sunday antique and bric a brac hunters should head off early to the market in L’Isle-Sur-la-Sorgue, where antiques and bargains can be found amongst the flea market and stalls.

One hour away is Aix en Provence, the Paris of the north, which provides very good shopping for fashionable clothes, antiques, as well as typical local French produce and fish from Marseilles.

Two supermarkets 10 minutes away in Forcalquier. Bank, hairdresser, post office, pharmacy, baker, butcher and small grocery store 5 minutes away in St. Etienne les Orgues.
